Almost any valve in any application would use a braided packing or a die formed ring to prevent leakage at the valve stem.

Product Description

The valve stem which rotates as a result of opening and closing the valve is always prone to allowing medium which flows within the valve to escape the valve. Most braided packings and die formed rings are used to prevent this leakages and to ensure maximum protection within the valve.

Most common mediums that come in contact are Steam, Water, Oil, Acids and Alkalic solutions. Most braided packings and die formed rings are manufactured according to required specifications and can withstand extremely high pressure and temperature and even tolerate very corrosive acids. In some instances a combination of both braided and graphite packing are used depending on the requirements and certain braided packing are reinforced with various wires to enable durability in extreme conditions.

Packing sleeves within the gauge cocks are made of pure graphite for high temperature and pressure applications to give a good seal and to ensure no leakages occur within the gauge cocks.
